Looking for an accessible yoga class that inspires you to show up on your mat?
Evangeline fell in love with yoga from her very first class.
In 2008 she took a leap of faith and journeyed to Costa Rica where she underwent comprehensive Yoga Instructor training with Frog Lotus Yoga, designed in accordance with the 200 hour requirements for registration with the Yoga Alliance.
She continued with Frog Lotus Advanced training in Mexico in 2010 and completed her 500 hour certification in India in 2011.
While she earned her 200 hour Yoga Instructor certification in Vinyasa Flow Yoga, otherwise known as Power Yoga, Evangeline continues to study many forms of yoga including Yoga for Arthritis,Yoga for Seniors, Yin, Sivananda, Iyengar, Baron Baptiste etc.
Since her initial training, Evangeline has been privileged to teach students at every level of fitness, experience and age group. She has taught students from age 4 to 84, fitness novices, and tri-athletes.
While the asanas ( postures) are the main focus of her teaching practice, yoga means so much more to her than that. Yoga was a natural extension of her passion for the study in human potential. Evangeline has been drawn to study self-help, spiritually and positive thinking books her entire life. She graduated from Wilfrid Laurier in 1992 with a degree in psychology and English literature. In 2000 - 2002 she had the opportunity to study with a native shaman and deepen her understanding of human potential and energy fields. Under the tutelage of the shaman, she earned her level three certification in Therapeutic touch.
She hopes to help each student develop not just a healthier body but a more peaceful and balanced life.
